Why I Choose The M&P

There are many high quality, affordable, self-defense handguns on the market right now. If you have done a modicum of research and practice, you probably won’t go wrong with almost any of them. If you find a handgun that you like, I think it is comparable to getting a new golf club; If you look down when you are about to hit the ball, and you like what you see, that must be a good thing. Appearance isn’t important, but liking your gun is important.

The most popular of this style is the Glock. If you don’t have a preference, you will probably be well-served by any 9mm Glock. I have owned five different Glocks, and there was nothing wrong with any of them, Therefore, an obvious question to ask myself is, “What do I like about The M&P M2.0 better than the Glock? Why choose anything other than Glock?”

Compared to Glock, I prefer The Smith & Wesson M&P M2.0 because:

      • It’s American made.
      • It’s cheaper.
      • It has metal sights.
      • It has metal magazines rather than plastic magazines with metal on the inside.
      • It has the best cocking serrations in the industry.
      • It has aggressive stippling on the grip.
      • It has a customizable grip that is well integrated with the rest of the pistol.

This list is meant to provoke thought. You don’t have to agree with everything, and you don’t have to have the same priorities I do. These are just some of the factors that drove my choice. I hope you find a handgun that you like better than the competition.

Robert
